This wedding was truly one for the books. While we haven’t known DC and Evan for long, we already consider them friends and absolutely loved being in Charleston to celebrate this day with them.
Their wedding had not one, not two, not three, but FOUR locations! We started out the day at a gorgeous Air Bnb looking over the Battery at Zero Water Street with DC taking photos of her beautiful details. Her engagement ring on top of the macarons she put in welcome bags for guests were beautiful, but her grandmother’s ring was truly one of our favorites. That and her simply elegant dress set the tone for an amazing day!
While Ian met Evan at the church where they were married to document him getting ready, Radhika got to watch DC open Evan’s wedding present to her: an original painting of the street where she was, at that moment, getting ready for her marriage to Evan! The artist apparently did not want to part with this painting, but Evan knew it would be perfect for their home together! We have to agree — it’s gorgeous!
After finishing touches, Evan headed to the Zero Water Street for their first look! We loved the gorgeous photos we got of them having a quiet moment together before the ceremony!
At the church just before the ceremony, DC also got to do a first look with her dad. He hadn’t seen her in her dress and his reaction was priceless! Such a sweet moment!
Our absolute favorite part of this wedding though? Well, it had to be a reception. DC and Evan gathered their closest family and friends at McCrady’s Tavern and it was such an intimate setting. All of the details were so beautifully laid out and it made for a stunning night. Hands down the most amazing moment was when DC surprised Evan with her gift! She worked with his best man to write a song that was their first dance — and sang it while she danced! Evan got to keep the guitar as a wedding present! Their families’ toasts were the sweetest as well, and we’re pretty sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.
After dinner, the whole crew headed to the Charleston marina for the after-party in location #4: their friend’s boat! A captain sailed it out into the harbor while everyone relaxed and ended the cool night on the water. We think this made for DC and Evan’s perfect day: one that was shared in intimate settings with their closest friends and family. We are so thrilled that we got to be a part of it. Thank you, you two! You are so sweet together and we are so grateful to call you friends!
