We work across medium format, 35mm, and digital to make portraits feel comfortable, natural, and true to the life you’re living now.
Based throughout Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and the Triangle, we want to create images that feel beautiful without becoming overly polished. Because what feels ordinary now has a funny way of becoming irreplaceable.
Family Photography on Film
We have photographed families on film since long before it became fashionable again.
Medium format is still one of our favorite ways to make a portrait. It asks everyone to slow down for a second. It gives skin and light a softness we love, but more importantly, it changes the way we work. Instead of making hundreds of nearly identical frames, we're watching for the photograph that matters.
We also carry 35mm and digital for the less predictable parts. Kids running away from us. A baby grabbing someone's face. The things that happen too quickly to arrange.
Your gallery isn't divided into “film photographs” and “digital photographs.” It's one body of work made with different cameras, chosen for what each does best.
Sessions are designed around more than a gallery of digital files, with fine art albums, matted prints and folios available to turn the photographs we make into part of your family's physical archive.

What We Photograph
The Family Archive Starts Wherever You Are
Maternity
Pregnancy can feel both endless and impossibly brief. We photograph maternity sessions at home, outdoors, or in the studio, alone or with your partner and children. The goal isn't to turn pregnancy into something ethereal and unrecognizable. It's to make photographs that still feel like you.
Newborn
Newborn sessions happen at the baby's pace. Feeding is part of it. Older siblings wander in and out. We photograph the tiny details you'll forget and the larger story unfolding around them: who held the baby, what your home looked like, the way everyone was learning this new version of your family.
Families
Babies become toddlers. Toddlers become kids with opinions about what they're wearing and whether they're participating in family photographs at all. The photographs become more interesting once people stop trying so hard to make a good photograph.
The most meaningful stories hide in life’s ordinary moments. We simply provide the freedom and ease to make them permanent. A textural legacy that grows more valuable with every passing year.
