Do you have any memories that are tied to a scent? This fragrance editorial explores that concept, and follows a couple on their seaside vacation.
This shoot was beyond amazing. Beyond. The team is what hooked me in, but not much can keep me energized on hour 8 of shooting and I hope you feel how much excitement I felt while I was photographing this session.
Highlights from this session:
- The range of locations we got to photograph in! From “waking up” in one of the rooms at The Goodland, the being poolside, to a editorial green paper background, to the actual beach (!!!), this fragrance editorial really followed this couple through their “vacation.”
- We were creating these images for St. Rose, a natural artisan fragrance brand. All of their ingredients are sustainably sourced, and they’re all skin-safe. Plus, they are made for both men AND women! I loved all of the scents, and if you want to try them out, you should order a sample set!
- Getting to know the editorial team — Heather Nan, Benjamin Holtrop, and Ginny Au — was amazing. I’ve admired these industry experts for a while and it was so cool to see them at work! All of the other photographers who were along to learn were amazing as well!
- I shot almost entirely film during this session, which was so refreshing. I also got to try out a Hasselblad during this time, and I loved shooting with it. For any film nerds out there, the square format photos from this session are from the Hasselblad!
