Three years ago, we met up with Jessica and Jeremy for the first time at Fort Fisher.
We were just getting into shooting film and thought it would be fun to practice at the beach (you can see the session here)! Neither of us had babies yet. Jessica took photos of us last summer when I was pregnant with Everest and we hadn’t met Kate yet, so we decided to meet up again over Memorial Day weekend when we were all at the beach!
This sunrise session was stunning. If you want photos on the beach in NC, friends, sunrise is the way. to. go. No one is around, it’s cooler, and there’s nothing like seeing the sun rise over the ocean. The light is beyond beautiful, and we were thrilled that we got to photograph the Hortons in it!
We love love love how these photos turned out, but meeting baby Kate really took the cake. She is such a doll and was in a good mood for the whole session (take note, parents with tiny humans)! Her dimples slay us!
By far, our favorite photo is the “accidental” one that we took near the end of this post. Ian was shooting with our new Contax 645 and I accidentally had put it on double exposure mode. He noticed the camera making a funny sound, but didn’t think much of it until he was four or five photos in.
You probably know we love double exposures, but we did NOT have high hopes for this shot! And yet, in the very middle of it, you can see Kate “booping” Jessica’s nose. It’s the sweetest thing and such a happy accident! Don’t you love when that happens?
Jessica and Jeremy, thanks for meeting up with us for this session! We’re so glad that we met three years ago and stayed in touch and can’t wait to watch Kate grow up!
