We were connected with Tina and JP through Shehzad, whose family we took photos of last year. Tina works with him, and he referred us to her when he heard about her wishes for an intimate ceremony with JP and their families.
When Tina told me about the vision for the wedding, it just seemed so sweet, simple, and totally unique. We met with them at the Haw River Ballroom on their big day to take a few “first look” photos, and then headed over to the Haw River paddle access point where she and JP have spent many afternoons kayaking and canoeing together in the past. Their families were there, ready to witness them commit their lives to each other. We couldn’t believe that this was the first day that their families have met each other: the entire group was so loving and we felt right at home!
After the ceremony, we snuck Tina and JP off to take some photos among the blooming wisteria, and then headed back to the dock so that they could REALLY take the big leap…right into the water! Their families celebrated back at the Haw River Farmhouse Ales with some drinks and fun to end the evening.
The night was so beautiful. Tina and JP, thank you for letting us be such a huge part of your day. Being photographers takes on a whole new meaning when you are the only members present at a wedding who are not family. You shed such a different light on our job as witnesses and memory makers and we hope that your entire lives together are as beautiful as your wedding day!
