The inspiration behind this shoot was to capture the intimate moments shared between a bride and her closest friends in the hours before she is to become a Mrs. These girls, like so many brides and bridesmaids, lived together for years before marriage and are the best of friends. They have seen each other at their best and worst and they are some of the most important people that have vetted the bride’s significant other leading up to this moment. This shoot aims to celebrate that type of companionship and love amidst the larger story of a wedding day.
We chose the Leslie-Alford-Mims House as the backdrop because of its timeless beauty and history of love and friendship. The details highlight current wedding trends: copper, dusty blues and hints of blush accents, creating a feminine and striking palette. The olive branch was woven throughout the details and exudes elegance and grace rooted in the history of matrimony. The natural light throughout the house was ethereal and the perfect setting to mix metals with washed wood tones and soft florals creating a modern and romantic dining experience.
To our brides: we love nothing more than celebrating the love that you share with your husband-to-be. We know how much work and intention has gone into planning your wedding, and more importantly, your marriage. On your day though, remember the women (and potentially men!) who will be standing by your side. These people love you and they have been there for you. They will be with you today, too. They will be with you when you cannot maneuver your long train over grass and bricks, they will be with you when you need a tissue, or water, or just a break to get a bite to eat, they will be with you when your make-up runs and you need someone to hold your bouquet. Celebrate with them during the morning of your wedding and enjoy this time together! There are lots of ideas in this inspiration shoot to help you intentionally plan your day with the best girls you know!
Thank you to all of the amazing artists who worked with us to make this shoot a possibility! We’re in love with your work and can’t wait to work together again!
