Jack and Becca’s wedding was our last of the year, and was one of the most unique that we have photographed!
Jack and Becca contacted us earlier in 2017 to photograph their wedding. We loved getting to know them at their absolutely gorgeous engagement session at Fearrington Village! However, for their wedding, they wanted to keep things so traditional that we’ve actually never photographed a ceremony like it. That’s because we didn’t photograph the ceremony!
To ensure true presence of everyone involved at the ceremony, no cameras or photography was allowed after Becca met Jack at the altar…including ours! This meant that during the entire ceremony, we were able to simply witness what was happening instead of document it, allowing us to be remain totally in the moment. What sounds like a photographer’s nightmare actually became a way to keep a sacred moment exactly that. This is just another reminder that this is your day and you get to make whatever choices best serve your relationship. Even if that means that part of your day are purposefully not photographed, that is okay. The only people to witness Jack and Becca’s vows were the ones they invited to be there in the room, and we think that’s pretty special.
After their ceremony at the Point Church in Cary, all of their guests headed to the Cannon Room in Raleigh for their reception. Meanwhile, we stayed back for a little while longer to grab some gorgeous fall formal portraits of them. We absolutely loved the beautiful bouquet that Bowerbird Flowers put together for Becca. It so well complimented her Maggie Sottero dress and the peekaboo flowers in the front! While their guests ate dinner, Becca and Jack made their way around the room and hugged every. single. person. How special is that? One of our favorite parts of their day was how their reception ended: with Duck Donuts for dessert and a slideshow that drew the sweetest reactions from the couple and their guests!
Jack and Becca, thank you for inviting us to be a part of your day. We’re so glad that we were able to get to know you over the course of this year and wish you a long and happy marriage!
