We have had some wind-filled and chilly sessions lately, and we’re convinced they make for better photos. Nothing makes you want to snuggle up with your loved one more than a blustery wind, and this session was no exception!
We met up with Anna and Russell of Joyce Films in the DUMBO area of Brooklyn which offered gorgeous views of the New York skyline and lots of pretty cobblestone streets. The Manhattan Bridge is so gorgeous, but we absolutely loved the view of the Empire State Building through it as well. We so enjoyed taking an hour of our vacation in New York to get to know them. While they have lived in New York for over a year now, Russell actually went to divinity school at Duke, so they are familiar with the Durham area, too! Russell is a pastor at their church, but also does wedding cinematography with Anna. Their work is absolutely beautiful, but Anna wants to practice photography as well, so this photo swap worked out beautifully! We can’t wait to share the photos they took of us soon!
We weren’t expecting the sudden drop in temperature and the strong winds that resulted, but we love the resulting photos — windblown hair, a little bit of snow left over on the street, and tons of classic NYC photos. We’re still waiting for the film to come in, but in the meantime, we couldn’t wait to process these!
Anna and Russell — thank you so much for spending a little while of the afternoon with us! We’re so glad that we got to meet you and we hope you love these photos as much as we do!
