When I found out the gal from the desk-next-door at House of Work was pregnant, I was so excited!
I met Sam when we started working together at House of Work in downtown Durham. She is the sweetest and I was so happy for her and her husband, John, when I learned that she was pregnant! It’s been amazing to see her calm presence as she has journeyed through this pregnancy, bouncing on her yoga ball at the desk next door and bringing us donuts when she learned that she was having a girl! Sam is a talented writer and musician and you can read more about her journey with fertility here. It was incredible for me to read her words and feel trusted to capture this beautiful and sacred time in her life.
For their session, we met them at West Point on the Eno. It was a chilly March day but Sam brought the flowers on her gorgeous dress! Isn’t it perfect for a maternity session? We’ve never photographed at West Point on the Eno before, but we loved it! The area by the water was, unfortunately, crowded by bright orange construction trucks, but I bet you won’t be able to see any of them in our photos because of some creative framing! 😉 We absolutely loved the area so if you’re interested in a session here, let us know!
With COVID-19 craziness, I know that the end of this road may be a strange and difficult one, but we are so happy that we got to capture these photos of you both during this special time! Thank you so much for trusting us with these, Sam and John — we hope you love them as much as we do!
