Today is a big day in the life of Radian! First of all, this is Iris’s very first Halloween, and you know what that means…
That’s right! Our puppy has transformed into Radian Photography’s mascot for the day! Can you even handle that cuteness? Neither can we. We talked in high-pitched voices while she bounced around in her little costume and we already can’t wait for trick-or-treaters to come to our door.
But this day is also important to us for another reason: it’s our 7 year dativersary! Before you ask, yes, we seriously celebrate these events. It just makes life a little more exciting!
Seven years ago today, we sat very close on a couch, not touching at all, while we watched The Shining. We both liked each other, but didn’t know how to say it! Ian’s little brother, who was 8 at the time, knew though. On a day in Greensboro when the three of us went to a movie over Fall Break, he leaned in to whisper in my ear, “I think Ian has a crush on you!” We were best friends already, cooking meals together, going on hikes, and yes, even watching The Shining.
These days, we celebrate by watching A Garfield Halloween and It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. While Ian is making what is sure to be an amazing meal (with fresh pumpkin pie!), I am busy working on my gift to him. We spend so much time helping our couples create their first heirlooms, that I thought it was time to start one for ourselves! We have a wedding album, but our lives have changed so much, and will continue to do so. We will be filling this beautiful wooden box from Make and Stow, built with four slots for 4×6 prints (and other treasures!) with some of our favorite photos from the past seven years. We’ll continue to fill it as we grow and change, but for now, we are working on picking out some of our favorites from our life together to print and fill the box with! Isn’t it beautiful? We can’t wait to keep coming back to it, year after year! You can check out some of our favorite photos that are definitely going in that box below!
Happy Halloween everyone! May it be filled with more treats than tricks!
