Usually a multi-part engagement session is enough to make us feel excited, but we were looking forward to this one for a few more reasons. Read on to see why!
Becca and Jack are getting married this November, but scheduled their engagement session early this Fall. They met at church, and we were wowed by their description of the proposal: Jack took Becca to the rooftop of The Durham hotel and proposed in a suite he had rented! While they are opposites in many ways — Jack is a little bit more adventurous than Becca when it comes to trying new things like food, while Becca enjoys comfort staples (one of the reasons she chose the blue shirt that she wore at the beginning of the session!) — spending time with them confirms how right they are for each other.
We started their engagement session at The Belted Goat in Fearrington Village where they enjoyed coffee and each other’s company. Were they laughing at an inside joke or how awkward the start of a session can sometimes feel? We won’t tell! 😉
We continued their session with a walk through the neighboring park. The golden light was just perfect, and Jack and Becca filled us in on some of the details of their day that they have left to plan. After, we headed to our favorite field just as the sun was dipping below the trees to capture the final golden moments of the day. Becca and Jack ended their session doing something they did on one of their first dates: lighting a paper lantern! This is one of the reasons we were so excited for this session and are glad we were able to capture that moment for them!
Becca and Jack, thank you so much for choosing us to be your wedding photographers. We are so glad that we got to spend this evening with you and get to know you a little better, and we can’t wait to celebrate you both at your wedding in just a few short months!
