Fall Wedding at the Pavilion at Nicks Road | Gabi & Cameron

Our 2021 wedding season closed out with this sweet fall wedding at the Pavilion at Nicks road.

Gabi and Cameron are one of those couples who we can just tell are meant for each other. Being in their presence is sweet and peaceful and they clearly both respect each other deeply and see each other as a best friend. We knew at their Eno River engagement session that their fall wedding at the Pavilion at Nicks Road would be filled with simple elegance, meaningful touches, and a loving and supportive wedding party. Some of our favorites from their celebration are below, with words from Gabi and Cameron about their reflections regarding the wedding planning process! Gabi and Cameron, thank you so much for trusting us with your wedding photos! We were so glad to be able to be there to celebrate with the two of you!

Describe the proposal!

We met at a music camp hosted by Appalachian State when we were 16. We were instantly drawn to each other but Gabi had a boyfriend at the time. Flash forward to the camp ending and Gabi broke up with her boyfriend for Cameron and we’ve been together ever since. Cameron proposed while we were making dinner one night. Gabi had had a bad day and we were making mac and cheese (Gabi’s comfort food) and Cameron felt that the time was right.

How did you each know that the other was the right one for you?

Gabi- I had a period in college where my anxiety was really bad, Cameron was always there for me every step of the way. He helped support me on the tough days. He has been such a huge support over the last 7 years and he truly is my favorite person.

Cameron- It’s kinda cliche but the first time I met Gabi I really did know she was special – I just had such a different feeling about her than anyone I’d ever met. Over the years she’s been nothing but amazing. We’ve been through the highest of highs and lowest of lows and she’s been been right there next to me this whole time. She’s supported me more times than I can count and she really is my true best friend.

What has been the most fun part of planning for your wedding?

Trying all the doughnuts in the area to see which ones we like best.

Did your wedding incorporate any history, hobbies, or passions that are special to this you? If so, describe them!

October 30th is also Gabi’s parents wedding anniversary; as a sort of homage to them and Cameron’s parents and our grandparents, we will have a table with their wedding photos to showcase the weddings in our family. We will also have a memory photo dedicated to cameron’s grandfather who passed away.

Our wedding is Over The Garden Wall themed. Over the Garden Wall is a TV show that we have a tradition of watching every year with friends and family; it’s a fall/Halloween show that you can watch all of in about 2 hours. We love the fall vibes and the fun memories it invokes.

If you could give one piece of advice to a recently engaged couple about planning their wedding, what would you tell them?

Don’t stress over the little stuff. Cameron’s thoughts are that the actual wedding is just a celebration of us and shouldn’t be something to stress over and just have fun. Gabi’s thoughts are that the wedding itself is just one day in a long and happy marriage, and that the marriage itself is so much more than the wedding day.
