This year, we planned to do mini sessions on UNC’s campus near the Old Well. As the date approached, we watched the weather forecast go back and forth. Unable to make up its mind, we decided to relocate to the historic Carolina Inn on UNC’s campus, and loved how the photos turned out!
Mini sessions are great for quick updated photos for your family. We especially recommend them if you’ve already had a full family session that year — it’s always nice to have photos in more than one season. If you have toddlers or young kids, you will likely notice how fast and easy they are! They are an affordable way to get holiday card updates, and a lot of our families also use them to get portraits of their kids specifically!
This year, we decided we would hold our mini sessions on UNC’s campus. As Tar Heels, we love it there, and there are plenty of stunning locations for family photos. Unfortunately, as we approached our fall mini sessions date this year, we noticed that the weather forecast couldn’t decide whether it was going to rain or not.
We know this can cause a lot of anxiety for our families (and us!), so we went ahead and called it and decided we would hold our mini sessions at The Carolina Inn instead. Luckily, the families we work with are full of grace and happily went along with our back up plan.
Not only does The Carolina Inn have their iconic black and white hallway that is perfect for a rainy day, but there are also outdoor spots where we could go in case the rain decided to stop (which it did!). We also brought along our clear bubble umbrellas for adventurous families to use if they wanted to brave the rain!
We LOVED the way these photos turned out and definitely will be back! Thank you to our families who joined us this year for fall mini sessions — we hope you love your images as much as we do!
