Do you remember your very first home? Do you remember the smell that greeted you when you opened the doors, and how the floors felt under your feet? Do you remember the framed photos and where they hung? The music that filled the air, the conversations that filled your time?
Amy and Daniel are closing a chapter of their lives, and are getting ready to leave their very first married home to move to their very first purchased house! It’s an exciting time for them, to be sure, but also one that is bittersweet. When Amy asked us to grab a few photos of them in their home, she explained that while she is looking forward to moving, she knows it won’t be easy – this is the home that Amy and Daniel came home to when they got married two years ago, it’s the home where they decorated their first Christmas tree and cooked their first married meals.
We spent an afternoon with them eating lunch and learning more about their marriage and took these sweet photos of them spending time together in their bright and cheerful apartment. We had three personal favorites: 1) Radhika took photos on film that she developed herself in a dark room! Most of the images here are digital, but you can see a few of her favorites in one of the photos below. 2) We got to photograph the fortune that Amy opened just before Daniel proposed to her! Whoever said those can’t come true? 3) Amy has printed out a photo for every month that they have been married. You can see them in the first image below. What an amazing way to keep memories alive!
We hope you enjoy a few of our favorites of our time with Amy and Daniel below! Please remember that, even if they are taken with an iPhone, the small moments matter now and they will continue to matter in the future. If not captured, though, they are so easily forgotten! We are glad to be friends with people who know that and value building an intentional life, home, and marriage!
This beautiful session was featured on Fine Art Marriage, a publication after our own hearts! Thank you so much to the FAM team for letting this session grace your journal. We are so glad that you love it as much as we do.
