Jessi and Andy’s story is such a unique one, and we love that this rainy and intimate Duke Park elopement takes place right in the middle of it!
From the couple: We met in high school in 1996 and dated for about 4 yrs, eventually going our separate ways, but staying connected intermittently. After 12 years now living in our home together, Andy and I were sitting on the couch watching movies and eating pizza and he randomly asked if we should get married, because he was concerned about retirement and social security eligibility (lol).
This sweet, humorous love story and proposal turned into an elegantly simple Duke Park elopement on a rainy spring day. But don’t worry: the sun came out eventually! Jessi and Andy had the stone pavilion decked out in purples and greens and celebrated with champagne, cake, and a sweet getaway ride!
Some other amazingly fun details: Jessi kept her dress from their 1998 prom, and they had a beautiful blue pouch made to carry their new rings. Add in some borrowed silverware for their cake cutting, and voila! Something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue!
Advice from Jessi on planning your wedding: Keep wedding plans simple. Andy and I always enjoyed the idea of a small wedding, and with the current condition of our world through this pandemic, it’s been more accepted by our family and friends. It’s also been nice to plan an intimate experience and not worry about attendees, invitations, catering, etc. We often have two person parties, this will be our best one yet!
Jessi and Andy, we were so thrilled to be able to capture your special day! Thanks for trusting us with these photos — we wish you a joyous married life together!
