We knew that Liz and Trey’s wedding would be filled with lots of love, joy, and a few (happy) tears after their engagement session, and we weren’t wrong!
We met up with them at the downtown Raleigh Marriott where Liz and Trey were getting ready with their wedding parties. The rooms felt both calm and full of happy energy as finishing touches were put on hair and makeup. There was so much movement in this day — from the hotel to the Sacred Heart Cathedral to the trolley to Boylan Bridge to Market Hall! Phew! However, even with all the changes of location, Liz and Trey were able to create some moments to truly be present with each other and their loved ones. We appreciated that Liz took time to pray with her family and bridesmaids before heading to the church and that Trey met Liz in the back of the church just before their ceremony to read letters to each other instead of a first look.
Some of our favorite moments from this wedding include:
- The Lebanese dance, Dabke, that kicked off dancing at the reception.
- Liz’s dress was created using her mother’s — we love how she was able to repurpose old to make something completely new — both modern and timeless. Her dad kept talking about how it brought back memories of the day he married his bride, which was the sweetest!
- The trolley to photos — at the last minute, we made a chance and decided on portraits with Liz and Trey’s wedding party and all of their spouses on Boylan Bridge. The light was beyond incredible, and the views of downtown Raleigh in the background were just as amazing.
- The first dances were all so sweet. You can see some clips of those in the video we made for Liz and Trey here!
