2018 was such an incredible year, maybe one of the best we’ve had. While we didn’t travel as much as we did in
2016 or 2017 or photograph as much professionally, this year brought us more balance, peace, self assurance, and Everest! If every year following brings us as much joy and love, we’re okay with that.
We’re not going to lie, these round-up posts take some work, but we so love doing them because it’s a great way to relive all of our favorite memories of the year. We hope you enjoy looking through some of our 2018 highlights! Here’s to a wonderful 2019!
Our favorite photo of 2018
You know that double exposures are our favorite, and we loved seeing this one land in our inbox when the film scans came back! Ian’s favorite photos of Radhika
This photo captures not only the magic of the moment Everest met his mama but also all the love and hard work that went into creating that moment. Watching Radhika fully embrace motherhood, from the moment Everest was just a twinkle in our eyes through his now first six months, has been an incredible reminder of everything I love about her.
You can hear how much Radhika loves Everest in her voice when she greets him and you can see it in the way she looks at him. She has the most pure, radiant love for this little soul and has already taught me so much about what it means to love and nurture our son. Radhika’s favorite photos of Ian
It turns out that there are many, many other reasons you should hire a birth photographer, but here’s the reason I really wanted one: this photo right here. I loved watching Ian in those first minutes after Everest was born (you know, after I let them take him away from his mama’s arms). These boys are the best.
The morning after Everest was born, I woke up to this. Ian was up with me during every night feeding and slept in a (very uncomfortable) chair right next to me. I woke up to him sitting with Everest in the morning light of the window and knew I wanted to remember this moment and this feeling forever. Even though this is just an iPhone shot, I will treasure it forever. Best travels
While we didn’t travel too much this year, we did go on our babymoon to Virginia and scheduled our maternity session during our trip!
We also went to the beach. Radhika’s favorite place was in the water while pregnant. While we were there, our sweet friend Jessica captured some maternity shots for us!
Radhika also went to Film School in Utah where she took this skyline photo at night on film! Best of Families

This little one arrived to his session ready to save the world with his cape and we loved photographing him with his family! Best floral find
Watching Ahana grow up, since before she was even born, has been such a joy! We loved photographing her at her one year session among all of the flowers at Duke Gardens! Best pup

We’ll go ahead and say it — our favorite baby shower to photograph this year was our own! Best best friend
This was such a special session for us because Everest got to meet his best friend, Abbott! Best bedtime cuddle
We photographed the Hunter family with newborn Charlie early in the year and they had so much fun cuddling in the bed together! Best family playtime!

Frances and Bart set up a little picnic on the front lawn of the house they will live after their wedding! So, so cute! Best floral wall
Plume Events designed this amazing floral wall for Katie and Alex’s engagement shoot! Show.stopper. Favorite rivals
We’re on Kelsey’s side on this one, but we love both of these cuties! Best canoe-duo

These two and their guests didn’t let a little rain get in their way. We loved that everyone just grabbed an umbrella and kept it moving!
Thank you to everyone who made this year so spectacular! We can’t wait for even more fun in 2019!
