Sam and Savannah decided to plan their anniversary photo session at the Raleigh Rose Garden, near downtown Raleigh, NC. Their session had to be postponed because of COVID, but despite that, they enjoyed a beautiful evening together with their dogs present!
These two met at Wake Forest and fell in love during undergrad. Savannah went to Duke for law school, so originally they wanted to plan their session at Duke Gardens (our favorite!). Because of COVID, however, Duke Gardens remains closed indefinitely, so we found a backup in the Raleigh Rose Gardens! The plan was to photograph them before their anniversary, but COVID thwarted us again. Still, they got some beautiful (though humid!) weather after a lovely summer storm, which makes for such great images!
The Raleigh Rose Garden is undergoing construction right now, but you certainly can’t tell from these photos! This is a beautiful little garden, with –you guessed it — gorgeous blooming roses close to downtown Raleigh. It makes for a great spot for an engagement or anniversary session, which is just why Sam and Savannah chose it.
Sam and Savannah’s dogs, Paisley and Calvin, also got to make appearances during the session! They stayed in the car (which was left on) while “mom and dad” got some alone time and then joined us when we walked over to the Raleigh Little Theatre for part II of their session! These two are CUTE and so well-behaved! We love having pups along for your session. Just remember to bring someone along who can watch them or take them home or have another plan in place, like Sam and Savannah did, so they don’t get too tuckered out!
Savannah and Sam, we’re so grateful to have gotten to meet and work with you! Your anniversary session was beautiful. Getting to five years is no small feat and it’s obvious that you two have so much respect and love for each other.
Here’s what Savannah had to say about their experience:
I love our photos because they are genuine, organic, and showcase our family in a really sweet way – not at all stiff, unoriginal, cheesy, or overdone. But they are also romantic, professional quality photos that I’m excited to hang on our walls for years and years. If you want to work with photographers who are clearly very experienced in the product they deliver and wonderful people to work closely with, definitely. hire. Radian!-Savannah
